Truly universal

The universal luting composite system Multilink N is suitable for the adhesive cementation of metal, metall-ceramic, all-ceramic and composite resing restorations.

The luting composite and self-etch adhesive (Multilink N Primer) of the Multilink N-System are specially co-ordinated. The self-etch adhesive seals the dentin and ensures marginal integrity and high bond strength on enamel and dentin, which is attained in only ten minutes. It provides the basis for a strong and lasting bond.

Advantages

  • Strong and long-lasting bond
  • Universal application
  • Easy clean-up of excess cement

Indications
The universal luting composite is suitable for the placement of indirect restorations made of leucite-reinforced glass-ceramics (IPS Empress), lithium disilicate glass-ceramics (IPS e.max CAD/Press), composite resins (FRC Postec Plus, SR Nexco), oxide ceramics (IPS e.max ZirCAD), metal and metal-ceramics (IPS 99, IPS InLine System). Multilink N is used for the following indications, depending on the material used:

  • Inlays/Onlays
  • Crowns
  • Bridges
  • Root posts

Direction to Use

Removal of Temporary Restoration and Cleaning:

    • Remove temporary luting cement from the cavity.
    • Clean the cavity with a polishing brush and an oil and fluoride-free cleaning paste.
    • Rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free air. Avoid over-drying.
    • Do not use alcohol for cleaning, as it may dehydrate dentin.

Try-in of the Restoration and Drying:

    • Check the shade, fit, and occlusion of the restoration.
    • Make necessary adjustments with fine diamonds if needed, using water for cooling.
    • Use rubber dams or alternative isolation methods to prevent contamination.
    • If contamination occurs, clean the dental hard tissue again.

Pre-treatment of the Restoration:

    • Rinse the restoration and dry it with oil-free air.
    • Coat the bonding surface with Ivoclean and allow it to react.
    • Rinse the restoration and dry it with oil-free air.
    • Apply Monobond N if necessary, following the specific guidelines for the restoration type.

Mixing of Multilink N Primer A and B:

    • Mix Multilink N Primer A and B in a 1:1 ratio (within a 10-minute window).

Application of the mixed Multilink N Primer A/B:

    • Apply the mixed primer onto the entire bonding surface.
    • Start with the enamel surface and scrub it in.
    • Disperse excess with blown air; no light-curing is necessary.

Application of Multilink N to the Restoration:

    • Dispense Multilink N onto the restoration.
    • Apply it directly to the inner surface of the restoration.

Placement of the Restoration and Removal of Excess Cement:

    • Seat the restoration and secure it in place.
    • Remove excess material immediately with suitable tools.
    • Follow the specific technique instructions for self-curing, self-curing with additional light-curing, or other methods.

Finishing of the Restoration:

    • Finish the cement joints if necessary.
    • Polish restoration margins and cement joints with suitable polishers.
    • Check occlusion and function and make adjustments as needed.
